About the Role
We are currently looking for a skilled Youth Worker to join our OTIS youth team based in Waikanae. In this casual position, you will specialize in supporting young individuals with complex needs and mental health challenges in a nurturing home environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating closely with clinical service staff to design personalized support plans.
- Focusing on the strengths of the young individuals you support, fostering a sense of hope, and encouraging them to recognize their ability to overcome challenges.
- Planning and implementing a range of activities and programs tailored to help them achieve their goals.
This role will involve filling in for permanent Support Workers during their leave, offering flexibility with non-regular hours. You will have the opportunity to work across our full range of services throughout the week, including various locations in Wellington.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- A National Certificate in Mental Health and Addiction Support Work (Level 4) or a National Certificate in Youth Work, or a willingness to work towards one.
- A full driver's license.
- A current New Zealand first aid certificate, or a readiness to obtain one.
- Knowledge and understanding of Te Ao Māori, including Te Reo Māori and Tikanga, or a willingness to learn.
