About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Sonographer to join our Radiology Services and Perinatal Ultrasound Unit at Wellington Regional Hospital and Kenepuru Hospital. This position is suitable for a sonographer interested in specializing in Radiology or expanding their skills across both Radiology and Women's Health.
In this role, you will interact with a diverse range of health professionals and hospital departments. Equipped with state-of-the-art ultrasound machines, you will produce high-quality imaging that is essential for patient management and contributes to excellent patient care. We offer opportunities for upskilling in Maternal Fetal Medicine, Vascular, and Musculoskeletal ultrasound for the right candidate. Both full-time and part-time positions are available, with some flexibility regarding rostered hours.
About Our Team
Our Radiology service is a multidisciplinary team consisting of Radiologists, Nurses, Administration Support Staff, and Medical Imaging Technologists. We are also a training institution for Radiology Registrars, Medical Imaging Technologists, and Sonographers. Our services provide tertiary Radiology imaging for the lower North Island and upper South Island, serving a population of over one million people.
The Women’s Health Service team is dedicated to delivering excellence in obstetric and gynecological care. We provide a comprehensive range of inpatient, outpatient, day patient, and domiciliary services across Wellington and Kenepuru hospitals, Kapiti Health Centre, outreach clinics, and domiciliary midwifery services. Our dedicated Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Department is an integral part of this service.
About You
We are seeking candidates who are eligible for registration in the scope of practice for Ultrasound with the New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologists Board (MRTB). Experience in the following areas is highly valued, with opportunities for upskilling available:
- Abdominal scanning
- Gynecological
- Small parts
- Vascular
- Musculoskeletal
- Maternal Fetal Medicine
- Paediatric
