About the Role We are currently looking for a motivated Lead Software Engineer to join our expanding Property team. This permanent position will allow you to play a key role in shaping our technical direction while mentoring a talented group of engineers. In this role, you will support the Property Engineering team, collaborate on significant projects, and contribute to our engineering community. Key responsibilities include creating a long-term vision for the Property Engineering team, advocating for and implementing engineering best practices, and collaborating with Principal Software Engineers and Product Owners to develop technical roadmaps. You will also contribute to Trade Me's governance processes, mentor junior engineers, and manage technical debt effectively. Requirements To excel in this role, you should bring the following qualifications and experience: - A minimum of 2 years in a similar tech lead position. - Strong software development skills, particularly in C#. - Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies is preferred, though not required. - A deep understanding of software development principles, architecture, design patterns, and modern technologies. - Proven ability to design scalable, reliable, and maintainable applications. - Experience mentoring junior engineers and supporting their professional growth. - Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills, even under pressure. - Openness to adopting new tools and methodologies to enhance platform capabilities. - Practical knowledge of technologies and practices relevant to Trade Me's technical strategy.
