Our Macraes goldmine is known for its operational excellence, and we are currently seeking dedicated individuals to join our team. About the Role We have an exciting opportunity for an entry-level Field Technician (Drillers Off-sider) at our Macraes goldmine. This position is physically demanding and involves the repetitive lifting of sample trays, which may weigh up to 10 kilograms at a time. A strong commitment to safety is essential, as there are numerous operating procedures to follow while on site. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, willing to work both day and night shifts, and comfortable in all weather conditions, as our field technicians are active 24/7, regardless of rain, hail, or shine. This role is an excellent entry point into the mining industry and does not require formal qualifications. Instead, we value a reliable attitude and a strong work ethic. Our roster pattern consists of 7 days on, followed by 7 days off, then 7 nights on, and 7 nights off. Working hours are from 6:40 AM/PM to 7:00 PM/AM. We provide a company bus for transportation to and from work in Dunedin, with departures at 5:15 AM/PM and returns around 8:15 PM/AM. Candidates should be prepared for long workdays and have the flexibility in their personal lives to accommodate this schedule. Requirements - Strong health and safety awareness and a positive attitude toward workplace safety - Ideal candidates will have prior experience in an industrial or large-scale environment - Previous laboring or manual handling experience is preferred - Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test - A full New Zealand driver’s license is required, with a preference for candidates who are confident driving a manual vehicle - Must be physically fit and capable of consistently lifting sample trays weighing between 5 to 10 kilograms, with the potential for weights up to 25 kilograms - Comfort in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold - Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment, both face-to-face and via radio Benefits If you possess the skills and stamina to succeed in this role, we encourage you to apply.
