About the Role
We are seeking an HR & Safety Advisor to play a crucial role in helping our business meet its human resources and health and safety obligations. In this position, you will foster a positive, inclusive, and safety-conscious workplace culture. Your responsibilities will include providing operational HR and health and safety advice, supporting the implementation of people and safety strategies, and ensuring compliance with employment legislation and health and safety regulations.
This hands-on role requires you to partner closely with managers and employees to create a safe, equitable, and high-performing work environment.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Health and Safety, Business, or a related field.
- A minimum of three years' experience in an HR and H&S advisory role.
- A strong understanding of employment and health and safety legislation.
- Proven ability to coach and advise managers on complex issues.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS/H&S systems.
- Experience in a high-risk or operational industry, such as transport, construction, logistics, or manufacturing.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach, coupled with integrity and discretion.
- Resilience and composure under pressure.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to build trust quickly.
- A passion for safety, people, and making a positive impact.
- Familiarity with critical risk management and incident investigation methodologies.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
