About the Role
We are currently seeking a Swim School Administrator to join our team at the Wanaka Recreation Centre. This unique role combines administrative responsibilities with hands-on teaching, allowing you to engage with our community in a meaningful way.
In this position, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to our Swim School, which includes managing bookings, invoicing, reporting, and rosters. You will also coordinate classes and maintain effective communication with students and their families. A portion of your week, totaling 15 hours, will be dedicated to teaching.
Key Responsibilities
- Process swim school registrations and class bookings efficiently.
- Collaborate with Crew, Supervisors, and Team Leaders to meet sales, capacity, and retention targets in a timely manner.
- Foster positive relationships with local clubs, groups, and societies while actively promoting the Wanaka Swim School.
- Supervise and instruct our Pool Swim School programs, focusing on safety skills for the community.
- Mentor new staff members, ensuring they are prepared to teach independently.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have 3-4 years of experience in an administrative or customer service position, preferably within the sports sector. Your excellent interpersonal skills will enable you to connect with a diverse range of individuals and build strong working relationships.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- AustSwim Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety or Swim Teacher Award (SNZ STA).
- NCEA Level 2 as a minimum educational qualification.
- A current NZQA affiliated First Aid Certificate.
