    About the Company At Extrastaff, we specialize in connecting skilled workers with leading construction projects across New Zealand. As a Labour Hire Company, we are dedicated to providing our clients with exceptional service while fostering a supportive and dynamic work environment for our employees. About the Role We are currently seeking full-time Construction Technicians to join our team for deployment on various infrastructure and commercial construction projects throughout New Zealand. These positions are permanent and full-time, with site locations determined by project demand. We offer a competitive hourly wage ranging from a minimum of $26.00 to a maximum of $40.00, with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours of work per week. We provide the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and tools, and you will have the opportunity to work on significant infrastructure and commercial projects. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will perform tasks that align with your skills and capabilities, contributing to the overall success of our projects. Your responsibilities will include: - Complying with all aspects of contracts, projects, and tasks while delivering exceptional customer service. - Erecting scaffolding or ladders for constructing structures above ground level. - Creating structures, forms, or chutes and pouring concrete. - Covering subfloors with building paper to prevent moisture and laying hardwood, parquet, or wood-strip-block floors. - Filling cracks or defects in plaster or plasterboard and sanding as necessary. - Positioning and securing steel bars, rods, cables, or mesh in concrete forms. - Performing general labor tasks, including cleaning construction sites as directed by managers. - Loading and unloading building materials, tools, and equipment, and transporting them around construction sites. - Completing any other duties as assigned. Requirements To be considered for this position, candidates should possess the following skills and experience: - Some experience in the construction industry is preferable, but not essential. - A friendly demeanor, strong time management skills, and an excellent work ethic are essential. - A commitment to learning and developing skills within the industry. - Sound knowledge of health and safety procedures. - Reliability and a strong work ethic. - Ability to fabricate and install custom joinery and cabinetry. - Experience with general framing, fix-outs, door hanging, skirting, and architraves. - Precision in measuring and cutting materials. - A collaborative approach to working as part of a team. - A focus on maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient workspace. - Willingness to collaborate with other trades as needed. - Ability to pass a Criminal Check and Drug Test. Nationwide Opportunity and Travel While this role is listed in Northland, we are actively recruiting for positions across all regions of New Zealand, based on project requirements. The regions include: North Island: Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington. South Island: Tasman, Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago, Southland.
