We are currently seeking dedicated Trades Assistants to join our team.
About the Role
As a Trades Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our projects across the country. We are looking for organized and trustworthy individuals who take pride in their workmanship. Flexibility in work locations is essential, as you may be asked to assist in various regions.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing electrical layouts to identify appropriate systems and ensuring compliance with electrical and fire codes.
- Installing and testing systems to confirm proper functionality.
- Addressing and repairing system issues, including replacing defective parts.
- Collaborating with the Leading Hand, Supervisor, or Manager to ensure that equipment builds meet time, cost, and quality requirements.
- Monitoring work progress and communicating any delays or issues to the relevant supervisor.
- Conducting quality inspections in accordance with our established policies and procedures.
- Fully understanding safety objectives and policies, and seeking guidance when necessary.
- Participating as a member of the marine team and contributing to the wider organization.
- Performing any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who possess the following skills and experience:
- Ideally, at least one year of relevant experience or a qualification equivalent to NZQF Level 1, although this is not compulsory.
- A friendly demeanor with strong time management skills and an excellent work ethic.
- A commitment to learning and developing your skills within the industry.
- A sound understanding of health and safety procedures.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
Location
You may be required to work in various locations throughout New Zealand, including Auckland, Northland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawkes Bay, Taranaki, Gisborne, Whanganui-Manawatu, Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson-Tasman, Canterbury, West Coast, Otago, and Southland.
Benefits
This position offers a permanent, full-time role with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours of work per week. The pay rate ranges from a minimum of $26.00 per hour to a maximum of $30.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
