About the Role
We are seeking approximately 10 carpenters for a diverse range of projects in the Wellington area. Our clients have work available immediately, including large commercial projects that require prior experience in formwork, steel, and concrete, as well as high-end residential tasks involving framing and both interior and exterior cladding. There is ongoing work projected for the next three years, providing stable employment opportunities.
We guarantee a minimum of 30 hours per week, with the potential to work up to a maximum of 55 hours weekly.
Requirements
We welcome candidates from all experience levels, and no prior experience is necessary for this role. However, you will need to have your own toolbelt and power tools.
Candidates should possess the following qualities:
- Physical fitness and a strong work ethic
- A valid Site Safe certification is advantageous, but not essential
- Excellent understanding of health and safety practices
Benefits
We offer a competitive hourly wage of $29.66, with weekly pay. Additionally, we provide full personal protective equipment (PPE) and opportunities for training and upskilling. This position comes with a permanent employment agreement, ensuring job security and benefits.
Tasks
Your responsibilities will include:
- Ordering and selecting timbers and materials, and preparing layouts
- Cutting materials and assembling nailing cut and shaped parts
- Erecting frameworks, panelized systems, and roof framing, as well as laying sub-flooring and floorboards
- Verifying the trueness of structures and nailing fascia panels
- Sheathing roofs and fitting exterior wall cladding, door, and window frames
- Assembling prepared wood to form structures and fittings ready for installation
- Cutting wood joints
