About the Role
We are seeking a Clinical Psychologist to join our Child, Adolescent, and Family Services (CAFS) on a permanent part-time basis, working 64 hours per fortnight (0.8 FTE). In this role, you will provide specialized psychological assessments, interventions, and consultations for tamariki, rangatahi, and their whanau.
You will utilize evidence-based therapies, including both individual and group interventions, while also contributing to various service improvement initiatives. This position allows you to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team focused on enhancing mental health and wellbeing for young people throughout Hawkes Bay. Additionally, you will be instrumental in promoting culturally safe practices and ensuring high standards of care in a supportive and dynamic environment.
About the Team/Service/Location
Our team, Nga Harakeke mai Rongokako Child, Adolescent and Family Services, is based at the Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldiers Hospital. We work closely with whanau, schools, and community organizations to provide holistic, family-centered mental health and addiction services for the youth we serve.

About You
As a Clinical Psychologist, you will possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- A Master’s Degree in Psychology, including a practicum or internship approved by the New Zealand Psychologists Board.
- Registration under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act, with a current practicing certificate.
- Clinical experience in child and adolescent mental health and addictions.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equity.
- The ability to deliver or a willingness to train in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
