About the Role We are currently seeking a general handyman or maintenance person to join our Property team. This role offers an opportunity to utilize your skills and qualifications while managing a diverse property portfolio. Each day presents a new challenge, as you will be responsible for a variety of tasks ranging from basic property maintenance to overseeing tradespeople. Effective communication and collaboration are essential, as you will be conducting maintenance work at various Council buildings, including Te Whare Whakatere (Library and Civic building), the Art Gallery and Museum, Elderly Persons Housing, and other commercial and residential properties within our portfolio. You will be expected to manage your day efficiently, whether you are performing hands-on tasks or coordinating with external tradespeople. Who Are We Looking For? We are looking for a professional self-starter with a broad skill set in various trades. The ideal candidate is someone who is willing to get hands-on, whether it involves painting, minor plumbing, cleaning, or building maintenance. Attention to detail and pride in your work are essential qualities we value. Additionally, we seek a friendly and outgoing personality with an exceptional customer-focused attitude. You should be well-organized, possess a can-do mindset, and be able to seamlessly integrate into our established, high-performing team.
