About the Role
We are currently seeking a dedicated individual to join our Parks team. In this role, you will utilize your expertise in machinery and small plant operations, while also demonstrating a keen eye for detail. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain turf areas across Porirua City, ensuring they are well-presented and inviting for our community.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Mowing and maintaining designated turf areas around Porirua City
- Ensuring that our sports fields are tidy and well-maintained according to a scheduled mowing routine
- Caring for and maintaining equipment used in these tasks
About You
We are looking for candidates who have experience working with a variety of small plant machinery, including ride-on mowers or tractors. While knowledge of turf management is advantageous, a willingness to learn and work towards a qualification is essential.
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
- A clean, full, and unrestricted driver's license
- Prior experience with ride-on mowers or tractors
- A self-motivated attitude and the ability to work independently
- A collaborative spirit, contributing positively to our hardworking team
- A commitment to following processes and maintaining the cleanliness of our equipment
- A genuine pride in enhancing the appearance of Porirua for our community
