Our commitment to safety, excellence, and sustainable solutions is at the core of our operations. About the Role We are seeking a skilled Power Systems Technician to join our Power Services Division. This full-time, permanent position guarantees a minimum of 40 hours per week, primarily from Monday to Friday, with some standby roster participation required. In this role, you will provide specialized technical support in power systems and electricity protection. Your responsibilities will include: - Offering expertise in testing, commissioning, repairs, and maintenance across the power distribution network - Conducting acceptance and maintenance tests on distance protection relays - Performing primary and secondary testing, as well as fault finding analysis of substation and control systems - Installing and maintaining substation and other high voltage equipment in compliance with current regulations and standards - Ensuring the availability and safe operation of necessary plant and equipment - Producing quality assurance documentation and managing electricity supply work control systems - Adhering to the company's health and safety policies and setting an example in all safety matters Requirements To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and skills: - National Certificate in Electrical Supply (Power Technician) Level 5 or a similar qualification, along with two or more years of post-qualification experience - A tertiary qualification at a polytechnic diploma level - EWRB Practicing License - Hands-on experience in power systems and electrical protection work, adhering to industry standards - Comprehensive knowledge of current regulatory and industry requirements - Excellent organizational and time management skills - Proficient computer skills - Experience in high voltage protection system commissioning and the ability to make decisions independently - A valid full and clean New Zealand driver’s license Benefits We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes: - Comprehensive health insurance - Life and disability cover - Generous KiwiSaver contributions - Enhanced parental leave - Birthday leave - Long service rewards - Career advancement opportunities - A supportive and collaborative team environment How to Apply If you are excited about this opportunity and believe you would be a great fit for our team, we encourage you to apply.
