About the Company
At Te Matapuna Fonterra, we believe in creating an inclusive environment where everyone can be their true selves. As a global dairy co-operative owned by New Zealand dairy farmers, we are dedicated to fostering care, collaboration, and contribution. Our mission is to work together to create a better future, providing unique opportunities for individuals at all stages of their careers to grow and make a positive impact.
About the Role
We are currently seeking a Service Technician for our Clandeboye site, which is Fonterra's largest manufacturing facility. At peak capacity, our site processes up to 13 million litres of milk per day through some of the largest dryers in the world. With a workforce of over 1,200 employees, we value the diverse skills and expertise each team member brings to our operations.
In this role, you will be responsible for the mechanical servicing and repairs of our modern milk tanker and trailer fleet, along with performing automotive electrical diagnostics. Your contributions will help ensure that our vehicles meet Fonterra's high standards and comply with legal, health, and safety requirements. You will have the chance to work in a modern facility equipped with OEM tooling and advanced diagnostic equipment.
As an experienced diesel mechanic, you should feel confident in identifying faults during both roadside breakdowns and routine workshop repairs. Your proactive approach will play a crucial role in driving continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing tanker reliability. We offer a strong culture of learning and development, making this an exceptional opportunity to expand your knowledge and skills within New Zealand's largest co-operative.
This position operates on a 4 x 4 roster, consisting of two days, two nights, and four days off, with 12-hour shifts and a rotating on-call element.

- Solid experience as a heavy vehicle/diesel mechanic, preferably with Volvo, Scania, or other European trucks.
- A NZQA heavy vehicle trade certificate (Level 4) is essential.
- At least a Class 4 NZ Driver's licence, with the intention of obtaining a Class 5 licence; we are willing to support you in this process.
- Strong electrical diagnostic skills with a focus on asset care to help us achieve world-class fleet reliability.
- Self-motivated with excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
- Comfort with using and learning various software systems across multiple platforms.
