    About the Company ConsultANZ is a dynamic and growing mid-tier contractor specializing in civil infrastructure and land development projects throughout the Auckland region. About the Role We are currently seeking an experienced Lead/Senior Estimator to join our team. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in civil construction to step into a leadership role and contribute to the development of our estimating function. In this role, you will work closely with other estimators to prepare and submit high-quality, competitive tenders. You will ensure that all bids are submitted on time and reflect accurate costings, schedules, and methodologies. Your responsibilities will also include liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain and review competitive pricing, as well as preparing detailed cost estimates for civil works using a first-principles approach. Additionally, you will assess project requirements for labor, plant, and materials to support accurate pricing. You will review contract documentation to ensure compliance with tender requirements and support successful project handovers, including ongoing cost and variation management. Participation in client meetings and support during negotiation processes will also be key aspects of your role. We are looking for someone who can identify, assess, and manage risks and opportunities across tenders and projects while driving continuous improvement of our estimating systems, tools, and processes. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to mentor and guide junior team members to help develop their estimating skills. Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need: - A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management (or equivalent) - A minimum of 8 years of experience in civil construction with a strong background in estimating or quantity surveying roles - A sound understanding of earthworks, drainage, roading, and subdivision projects - Experience in a mid-tier contracting environment, specifically with project values ranging from $1 million to $15 million - Proficiency in Estimator or other estimating software - Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills - A proactive, solution-oriented mindset and the ability to work collaboratively across teams Benefits In return for your expertise, we offer a competitive salary package ranging from $150,000 to $190,000, negotiable based on experience.
