About the Role We are excited to invite an experienced Project Engineer to join our Christchurch Transport & Infrastructure civil construction team. In this role, you will take an active approach in managing specific operations, providing technical support to supervisors, and ensuring successful project outcomes. Your responsibilities will encompass various stages of project execution, including planning, tendering, contract management, and promoting safety excellence. Key responsibilities will include: - Assisting in the management of assigned contracts to ensure our transport and infrastructure projects meet client expectations regarding quality and timelines. - Addressing contractual issues and ensuring obligations are fulfilled while effectively resolving variations. - Contributing to the preparation of accurate estimates and tenders for contracts and variations. - Building and maintaining strong relationships with client representatives and stakeholders within Christchurch's transport and infrastructure sectors. - Promoting safe and sustainable working practices through effective induction, training, and ongoing staff development. Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need a proven track record in the civil construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and strong interpersonal abilities. Additionally, you should possess: - A tertiary qualification or equivalent in Civil Engineering or a related field. - A solid understanding of transport and infrastructure construction projects. - Proficiency in project management tools and software for planning, scheduling, and monitoring construction activities. - Familiarity with local industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements. - A positive health and safety record.
