About the Role We are currently seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to become part of our dynamic Sawmill Maintenance Team. This full-time, permanent position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge, high-speed automated sawmilling machinery. You will be engaged in a blend of preventative maintenance and diagnostic tasks, collaborating closely with our skilled Operators and Electricians to enhance plant performance. Each day will present a variety of challenges, making this a hands-on and rewarding role. Requirements To be successful in this position, you should meet the following criteria: - Hold a nationally recognized Level 4 or Level 5 trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering - Have prior experience as a trade fitter, ideally in a heavy manufacturing environment - Possess skills in hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, valves, fabrication, bearing fitment, setup, and alignment - Be able to interpret mechanical drawings and produce high-quality work - Demonstrate a history of being a team player with a strong 'Safety first' approach to planning and executing non-routine work - Exhibit analytical troubleshooting abilities This role involves working rotational shifts from Monday to Thursday within our Sawmill Maintenance Team. Benefits We offer a competitive remuneration package for successful candidates who demonstrate proven skills and knowledge. This includes a generous weekly tool allowance, shift allowance, and an overtime rate of time and a half for any hours worked over 40 per week.
