Flooring Installer - ANTARCTICA

We are currently seeking expressions of interest from experienced flooring installers for an exciting opportunity at McMurdo Station in Antarctica during the upcoming summer season. About the Role The season will run from October 2025 to March 2026, with deployment expected around October. While the return dates are yet to be confirmed, this role offers a unique chance to work in one of the most isolated and beautiful locations in the world. This position is not for the faint-hearted. You will be staying for several months, and we are looking for dedicated individuals who are ready to embrace the challenges and rewards of working in such an extraordinary environment. Responsibilities will include working on a large commercial construction project with a primary focus on interior flooring installation. Your duties will involve preparation work, base leveling, laying carpet tiles, installing rolled vinyl flooring, and ensuring clean and precise finishes. While tasks may vary, consistency and attention to detail are crucial. Previous experience in commercial flooring installation is essential. Requirements Due to travel restrictions, we can only accept applications from New Zealand and US citizens who currently reside and work in New Zealand and possess a New Zealand or US passport. Candidates must also be willing to receive the Flu, Tdap, and MMR vaccinations. It is important to note that these roles are not 'fly in fly out' (FIFO); you will be on-site for an extended duration, working long hours, six days a week. Start dates are approximate and contingent on passing medical and dental checks, obtaining security clearance, fulfilling notice periods, and ice flight availability. A pre-employment drug and alcohol test is required, along with a Full Class 1 NZ Driver License and a clean criminal record. Benefits In return for your hard work, we offer a competitive hourly rate of $66.11, with contracts paid fortnightly in NZ dollars for a 54-hour work week. We provide flights from any major New Zealand airport, food, shared accommodation, and travel insurance. All necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) will also be supplied.
