Description
About the Company
Glenalvon Ltd is a privately owned farming enterprise located in the scenic rural district of Raukawa, near Hastings in Hawke's Bay. Our operation spans 1,100 hectares across three lease blocks, featuring a diverse landscape of mixed hill terrain. We specialize in semi-intensive lamb and cattle finishing, aiming for an annual throughput of approximately 9,000 lambs and up to 900 cattle, depending on seasonal conditions and market demand.
In recent years, we have invested in modern infrastructure, including fencing, laneways, upgraded water systems, and multiple cattle and sheep yards. We also utilize Gallagher electronic collars for virtual cattle fencing, currently operating 100 collars with plans to expand to 300. Our seasonal downtime occurs from mid-December through February, providing our team with a well-deserved summer break.
