We are currently seeking an experienced Metal Fabricator Welder to join our team in the Marlborough region, with the potential for roles throughout New Zealand. About the Role As a Metal Fabricator Welder, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to the fabrication, installation, and repair of metal products. Your expertise will be crucial in creating and repairing metal structures that meet our high standards of quality and safety. We value reliability and motivation, and we ask for flexibility in working locations as you may be required to assist with projects across the country. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: - Fabricating, installing, and repairing metal products such as vents, handrails, boilers, aircraft and boat parts, as well as beams and girders for construction projects. - Preparing metal for fabrication, including reading and interpreting engineering blueprints. - Measuring and marking out cutting and bending lines. - Setting up metalworking machinery, including rollers, drill presses, flame cutters, brakes, and shears. - Welding metal pieces together using techniques such as MIG, TIG, or stick welding. - Double-checking design specifications before commencing cutting work. - Fabricating and constructing metal components. - Grinding and finishing completed products. - Inspecting finished products for defects, ensuring all welds, joints, and parts meet quality standards, and making any necessary adjustments. - Adhering to health and safety protocols. - Performing other duties as assigned by your supervisor. Requirements To be considered for this role, we require the following: - A minimum of 2.5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent qualification. - A friendly demeanor, good time management skills, and a strong work ethic. - Flexibility to work in various locations throughout New Zealand. - A commitment to learning and developing your skills within the industry. - A dedication to health and safety practices on-site. - Reliability and a hardworking attitude. Benefits This is a permanent, full-time position with guaranteed minimum hours of 30 per week. The pay ranges from $30.00 to $35.00 per hour, depending on your experience. You may be required to work in multiple locations throughout New Zealand, including Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Gisborne, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson-Tasman, Canterbury, West Coast, Otago, and Southland.
