In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and testing of high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) substation equipment. You will engage in essential infrastructure projects, ensuring that all equipment is safe, reliable, and compliant with industry standards. This hands-on position offers a valuable opportunity to enhance your technical skills while working within a high-performing team. Key Responsibilities - Install and upgrade substation equipment according to specifications - Perform scheduled inspections and maintenance on primary and auxiliary plant - Conduct testing and fault diagnosis on transformers, switchgear, and circuits - Operate and isolate power systems to maintain safe working conditions - Maintain accurate records of completed work, including test results and equipment history - Participate in site risk assessments and adhere to safe work practices - Foster customer relationships through professional service delivery - Collaborate with team members to contribute to a positive team culture - Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards - Engage in training and development activities - Contribute to project work and potentially participate in an after-hours standby roster About You To be successful in this role, you should be a New Zealand-registered electrician, with high voltage experience preferred but not essential. We value strong communication and teamwork skills. You should also be physically fit and comfortable working at heights, possess a full driver’s license, and be fluent in written and spoken English. A strong safety awareness and familiarity with electrical equipment and tools will be important for your success.
