About the Role
We are looking for a Social Worker to join our team at the Marlborough Health Hub, specifically within the Child Development Services in Wairau. This position offers a challenging yet rewarding opportunity, where you will conduct bio-psychosocial assessments and provide interventions to support children and their families facing complex challenges.
This is a permanent part-time role, requiring 32 hours per fortnight (0.4 FTE), with a work schedule from Monday to Friday. There is no on-call obligation associated with this position.
About the Team/Service/Location
The Child Development Service is a multidisciplinary team dedicated to working with Tamariki aged 0-15 years who have disabilities. In this role, you will provide essential support to families as they navigate the health and disability sectors. Our team is situated within the Community Health Hub, alongside various other community health services. For more information on living and working in Blenheim, please refer to our resources.
About You
As a Social Worker, you will:
- Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team, focusing on client-centred practice from a strengths-based perspective.
- Ideally possess experience working with Tamariki in health and disability settings.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of the social determinants of health and their impact on health and social needs across all age groups.
- Exhibit outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, combined with a high level of energy.
- Bring an innovative, proactive, and enthusiastic approach to all situations, including problem-solving tasks.
- Hold registration with the New Zealand Social Workers Registration Board.
Candidates must be eligible to work in New Zealand or possess a valid New Zealand visa at the time of application.
