In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the safe and secure transportation of prisoners. About the Role: This full-time position involves the crucial responsibility of safely transferring prisoners between Courts, Prisons, and Police Stations throughout the Northland Region. Additionally, you will supervise prisoners during jury trials in the courtroom. If you are interested in a future career in Police or Defence, this role serves as a valuable stepping stone. Key Highlights: - Starting pay is $27.80 per hour, increasing to $30 per hour after training. - Work five days a week from Tuesday to Saturday, with a guaranteed 42.5 hours per week contract. - Enjoy the convenience of weekly pay. - Be part of a supportive and collaborative team that values hard work and camaraderie. - Receive comprehensive training, including necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and a uniform. To be considered for this role, you should meet the following requirements: - Availability for shifts that are rostered between 5:30 AM and 9:00 PM. - A clear criminal conviction check (please note that the Clean Slate Act does not apply to this role). - A valid Full NZ Driver's License. About You: We are looking for individuals who possess effective written and verbal communication skills, along with vigilance and impeccable personal presentation. You should be capable of interacting professionally with prisoners and remaining composed in high-stress situations. Physical fitness is essential, along with the ability to pass a drug screening test. A willingness to complete training courses, including first aid, control and restraint, and law-related modules is also required. Additionally, a current Certificate of Approval (Green) or the ability to obtain one is necessary.
