About the Role
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Teacher to lead our Toddlers Room, which caters to children aged 2 to 3.5 years. In this permanent role, you will work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday. Our center features spacious indoor and outdoor areas, and you will be supported by a well-established team of three teachers, along with relievers as needed.
As a Head Teacher, you will have the opportunity to guide and mentor our team with warmth and professionalism. You will support tamariki through a responsive, child-led curriculum while building strong relationships with our children, families, and team members. Additionally, you will uphold the principles of Te Whāriki and Te Tiriti o Waitangi in your daily practices.
What We're Looking For
To thrive in this role, we are looking for individuals who possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- A Bachelor of Education or Diploma in Teaching Level 7 (Early Childhood Education) and current New Zealand teacher registration.
- Strong knowledge of curriculum planning, learning stories, and program design.
- A solid understanding of ECE regulations, Te Whāriki, and compliance requirements.
- A passion for working with toddlers in a respectful and inclusive manner.
- Positive energy, cultural responsiveness, and a leadership mindset to inspire the team.
