About the Role We are currently seeking casual Support Workers to assist individuals in our Porirua Residential services. In this dynamic and varied role, you will support people in various aspects of their daily lives, helping them engage in activities they enjoy, such as swimming, personal care, meal preparation, household management, and life skills development. The responsibilities are diverse and rewarding. As a Support Worker, you will work as part of a team on shifts or specific rosters, providing 24/7 support to those we assist. Some rosters may also offer the opportunity for additional sleepover payments. Requirements We are looking for individuals who are passionate about helping others, demonstrating kindness and understanding in their approach. While previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly with disabilities and challenging behaviors, is preferred, it is not mandatory. Candidates must possess a full driver’s license and should be proactive in encouraging individuals to achieve their goals. We seek energetic, outgoing individuals who can think creatively and adapt to various situations. Respect for different lifestyles and perspectives is essential, as the individuals we support come from diverse backgrounds with unique needs and interests. Flexibility to work overnight shifts and weekends is required. Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness are critical qualities for this role.
