We are currently seeking an experienced Metal Fabricator Welder to join our team in the Bay of Plenty region. About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to the fabrication, installation, and repair of metal products. Your work will involve marking, cutting, shaping, welding, and assembling steel and other metal materials to create or repair various structures and products. Key duties will include:
- Fabricating, installing, and repairing metal products such as vents, handrails, boilers, aircraft and boat parts, as well as beams and girders for construction projects.
- Preparing metal for fabrication.
- Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints.
- Measuring and marking out cutting and bending lines.
- Setting up metalwork machinery, including rollers, drill presses, flame cutters, brakes, and shears.
- Welding metal pieces together using techniques like MIG, TIG, or stick welding.
- Double-checking design specifications before commencing cutting work.
- Fabricating and constructing metal components.
- Grinding and finishing completed products.
- Inspecting finished products for defects to ensure all welds, joints, and parts meet quality standards, and making any necessary adjustments.
- Adhering to health and safety protocols.
- Performing any other duties assigned by your supervisor.
Requirements
To be successful in this position, you should possess the following skills and experience:
- A minimum of 2.5 years of relevant experience or a relevant qualification.

Location
This role may require you to work in multiple locations throughout New Zealand, including Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Gisborne, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson-Tasman, Canterbury, West Coast, Otago, and Southland.
Benefits
This is a permanent, full-time role with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours of work per week. The pay range is between $30.00 and $35.00 per hour, depending on experience. Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or residents, or possess a valid New Zealand work visa.
