About the Role Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua | MidCentral is currently inviting applications for an experienced and motivated Cardiologist to join our dynamic and expanding multidisciplinary Cardiology Service. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the ongoing development of both community-based and hospital-based secondary care cardiology services. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in pacing procedures, as this area is a growing focus within our service. We are currently undergoing significant development, which includes expanding dedicated facilities for diagnostic angiography, PCI, and pacemaker implantation. Our department is well-equipped with the following facilities: - Exercise ECGs - Ambulatory monitoring - Echocardiography (including TOE) - Diagnostic cardiac angiography and PCI - CT coronary angiography - Cardiac MRI - SPECT myocardial perfusion imaging - Permanent pacemaker insertion and follow-up MidCentral serves a population of approximately 180,000, providing a comprehensive range of cardiology services that include diagnostic angiography, pacing, echocardiography, CTCA, CMRI, and an integrated heart failure and inpatient service. Our facility, Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua - MidCentral, is a 350-bed secondary hospital located in Palmerston North, at the heart of the Manawatu region. In addition to serving a local population, we extend our regional services to a broader population of 550,000 across Whanganui, Taranaki, and Hawke's Bay.
