About the Role
We are currently seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our team on a full-time, ongoing basis, working Monday to Friday during the AM shift. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the consistent and efficient operation of our plant, machinery, buildings, and supporting infrastructure, including wastewater systems. Your technical expertise will directly contribute to production continuity and operational excellence, making this position ideal for a detail-oriented professional who prioritizes safety and reliability within a premium production setting.
Key Responsibilities
You will execute plant start-ups and shut-downs in strict accordance with standard operating procedures and operational manuals. Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and equipment issues promptly will be essential to minimize downtime.
Additionally, you will deliver structured preventive maintenance across daily, weekly, and monthly schedules, ensuring all machinery and equipment remain in optimal, production-ready condition. Upholding and promoting best-practice health and safety standards for all personnel and contractors is a key aspect of your role.
You will proactively identify and recommend engineering and process improvements, collaborating effectively with site leadership, engineering teams, and trusted external service providers. Other duties aligned with our commitment to operational excellence may be required.
Role Focus
Your primary focus will be on the day-to-day performance of plant and machinery at the Tuakau site, employing a prevention-first maintenance philosophy to reduce unplanned stoppages. Clear and professional reporting to Engineering and Production leadership will be an integral part of your responsibilities.
Non-Negotiable Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have a minimum of two years of proven work experience in a maintenance engineering position within New Zealand. You should be able to provide at least two contactable professional references.
Candidates must also be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and undergo a pre-employment Ministry of Justice (MOJ) check. A valid New Zealand driver's license and access to reliable transport are required. A strong commitment to workplace health and safety and compliance standards is essential.
