About the Role
We are currently looking for a dedicated individual to join our team in Lower Hutt as an LPG Cylinder Delivery Driver. This role involves delivering LPG cylinders across the region while directly engaging with customers to address their needs. Our work schedule is Monday to Friday, starting around 6:30 AM and concluding no later than 5:00 PM, with occasional Saturday work during busy periods, which will be compensated as paid overtime.
We will provide comprehensive training and support to help you confidently deliver accurate information to our customers. Given the nature of handling hazardous materials, a strict attention to detail and a commitment to safety are essential in this role.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Completing vehicle safety checks
- Organizing delivery runs
- Loading products onto the truck
- Delivering pre-filled LPG cylinders and collecting empties
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- A clean driver's license with a minimum of two years of Class 2 driving experience, with the ability to drive a manual transmission
- Previous experience delivering goods
- Physical fitness to lift heavy items during deliveries
- A Dangerous Goods license and LPG filling experience (or a willingness to undergo training)
- Flexibility and adaptability, with a strong focus on customer service
- Proficiency in using handheld computer delivery equipment
- A proactive approach to health and safety
- The ability to satisfactorily pass background checks, including criminal and ACC history, medical evaluations, and drug and alcohol screening
- A team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude and the flexibility to meet operational demands
Please note that you must be a New Zealand resident or hold a valid New Zealand work permit and currently reside in the country.
Benefits
We offer a competitive hourly wage of $30, with weekly pay. Additionally, we provide assistance in obtaining and maintaining current Forklift and Dangerous Goods endorsements. Uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided as part of your employment.
