About the Role
We are seeking a skilled roofing professional to join our supportive and experienced team. In this full-time, permanent position, you will work on high-quality residential and commercial roofing projects. This role offers the opportunity to develop your skills through ongoing training while ensuring you are part of a collaborative work environment.
Location: Palmerston North, Manawatu
Pay Range: $29 to $34 per hour
Work Schedule: Five days a week, with guaranteed hours of at least 30, and a standard of 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Planning & Preparation: Reading and interpreting roofing plans, measuring accurately, and inspecting materials prior to installation.
- Installation: Cutting, preparing, and installing roofing tiles and sheets to create durable, waterproof surfaces.
- Finishing: Applying waterproofing, installing ridge caps, flashings, and trims, while ensuring a high-quality and secure finish.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhering to all health and safety regulations, reporting incidents, and maintaining a clean and organized worksite.
- Team Collaboration: Working closely with project managers and team members to complete projects efficiently and to a high standard.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in roofing.
- Strong knowledge of roofing materials, techniques, and installation methods (such as tiles and metal).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications for roofing projects.
- Familiarity with roofing tools (including nail guns, hammers, ladders, and scaffolding) and safe working practices.
- Strong physical fitness and the capability to work at heights for extended periods.
- A detail-oriented, reliable, and safety-conscious approach to work.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
- A clean police report with no pending charges.
