About the Role We are currently seeking a motivated and high-performing individual to join our team as a Streetlight Electrician on a full-time, permanent basis. This role is pivotal to our expanding Streetlighting department, which is evolving into a national service provider. We believe our success is driven by our dedicated employees, and we are looking for someone who shares our commitment to excellence in service delivery. In this position, you will be responsible for organizing streetlight contracts, including the installation, repair, and maintenance of both overhead and underground streetlight components. You will carry out maintenance and fault repairs, ensuring that all projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. Additionally, you will perform streetlight patrols as required and maintain electrical wiring, machinery, instrumentation, and control systems to the highest standards of quality and safety. Requirements To be successful in this role, we prefer candidates to have the following qualifications, experience, and skills: - A current EWRB Practising Licence - An appropriate provisional electrical qualification - A current unrestricted Manual NZ Driver Licence - It is desirable, but not mandatory, to hold a current Electrical Inspector qualification - A minimum of 2 years’ experience in related activities - Preferred experience in commercial and industrial installation - Familiarity with distribution systems and associated procedures is an advantage - Knowledge of industry rules and regulations, including the Health & Safety at Work Act 2015 - Understanding of Electrical Wiring Regulations and Codes of Practice - Operational experience in streetlight routine asset maintenance and construction of new street lighting infrastructure We value excellent communication and problem-solving skills, a strong focus on safety, and the ability to work well under pressure.
