We are currently seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our Allied Health Therapies team in a permanent role, offering flexible working options of up to 80 hours per fortnight, either part-time or full-time. About the Role We are looking for an Occupational Therapist who is confident in their skills and eager to support colleagues who are early in their careers. If you find joy in sharing your expertise and helping others navigate their clinical challenges, you will be a great fit for our friendly and skilled Allied Health team, which operates within our acute medical and neurology wards. About the Team/Service/Location In this role, you will collaborate with whaiora, whanau, and the broader multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, person-centered inpatient occupational therapy. You will manage a complex caseload that includes acute strokes, frail elderly patients, and general medical cases. Your responsibilities will also include mentoring rotational occupational therapists and students, as well as participating in continuous quality improvement initiatives within the ward and the larger organization. About You We are seeking an Occupational Therapist who is passionate about sharing knowledge and skills within a diverse and supportive team of acute and subacute occupational therapists. We prioritize professional development, offering mentoring, supervision, and ongoing training. You will have access to regular in-service training, special interest working groups, and various learning opportunities to enhance your clinical and leadership skills. Additionally, our Occupational Therapy Professional Lead will be available to support your growth and promote the occupational therapy service throughout our hospital. To be considered for this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes: - A Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or an equivalent qualification - Registration as a New Zealand Occupational Therapist with a current annual practicing certificate (APC) - A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, preferably with some exposure to stroke care, although this is not essential Working at Health New Zealand At Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, we are committed to providing exceptional healthcare for all New Zealanders.
