Production Team Leader

About the Role We are currently seeking a Production Team Leader to oversee a dedicated team of baking production staff at our Quality Bakers site located in East Tamaki, Auckland. In this role, you will support the Production Manager in ensuring that the shift team is efficiently allocated to meet performance targets related to key performance indicators (KPIs), Delivery In Full On Time (DIFOT), waste percentage, line utilization, and overall productivity. Key responsibilities include: - Mentoring and developing direct reports to enable timely decision-making related to production tasks. - Ensuring the delivery of high-quality finished products by adhering to all Food Safety Systems and promptly addressing any issues that arise. - Overseeing plant hygiene by ensuring that cleaning occurs at appropriate times and meets established standards. - Managing the shift production team through toolbox meetings, including shift handovers, daily direction setting, and TALK meetings, while also addressing any safety, health, and quality concerns. Please note that this position requires working night shifts from Tuesday to Friday, concluding on Saturday morning. Requirements To be considered for this role, candidates should possess: - Experience in food manufacturing at a Team Lead or Supervisory level. - Knowledge of machine operation and/or engineering management practices. - Familiarity with Quality Assurance and Food Safety Systems. - A strong commitment to health and safety. - Effective communication skills and the ability to drive performance. - Experience with SAP and SHE systems is desirable.
