Description
About the Company
We are proud to be part of Te Tai o Poutini West Coast, having transitioned to Te Whatu Ora - Health NZ as of July last year. Our organization values innovation and collaboration, creating a unique working environment where we encourage new ideas and teamwork. We are dedicated to making a positive impact in the healthcare sector during this time of significant change.
About the Role
We are currently seeking Registered Midwives with a current annual practicing certificate (APC) for Lead Maternity Carer (LMC) roles on the West Coast, including Buller. We welcome applications from new graduate midwives who are passionate about providing exceptional midwifery care to the women of our region.
If you envision an ideal work-life balance in a rural community set against the stunning backdrop of the West Coast, this role may be perfect for you. Your typical day will involve delivering antenatal and postnatal care to our community. You will have the option to offer home births or assist with births in one of our maternity units at Te Nikau Maternity in Greymouth or Te Rua KawaKawa in Westport.
In addition to your professional responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to explore some of New Zealand's best-kept scenic secrets. The West Coast is renowned for its outdoor activities, including tramping, rafting, and canoeing, allowing you to fully enjoy the natural beauty of the area.
While you will be based in the community, we ensure you have access to ongoing education, training, and support from our team at Te Nikau. You will also receive collegial support from your colleagues providing LMC care across central and southern locations. Additionally, a sustainability package is available for our West Coast LMCs.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must be registered with the Midwifery Council of New Zealand and hold a current annual practicing certificate. Strong time management, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential. We believe in the collective strength of our team, as reflected in our guiding principle: "My strength is not the strength of one, it is the strength of many."
Benefits
Joining our team means becoming part of a supportive and dedicated community. We offer opportunities for professional development, access to training, and a sustainability package to promote your well-being as an LMC on the West Coast.
If you would like to learn more about this opportunity, please call Dawn Kremers, our Maternity Manager, at 03 769 7803. We look forward to discussing how you can contribute to our team and the women of the West Coast.
