About the Role
We are seeking Release to Work (RtW) Brokers to join our Reintegration team at Tongariro Prison. In this role, you will play a crucial part in reducing re-offending by helping individuals in our care develop their work habits, experiences, and skills, thereby increasing their chances of obtaining sustainable employment after release.
As an RtW Broker, you will be responsible for managing relationships with external job placement agencies, employers, iwi, community groups, other government departments, and internal stakeholders. You will work with an assigned case load to align the reintegrative needs of the prison with available work placements.
About You
To succeed in this role, strong leadership and influencing skills are essential, as you will collaborate with prison teams and employers to enforce release conditions and monitor work placements effectively.
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- A solid understanding of labor market trends, enabling you to match job specifications with prisoner requirements.
- Resilience and a solution-focused mindset.
- The ability to foster strong working relationships with a diverse range of employers, from government agencies to commercial networks.
- Excellent decision-making, professional judgment, and risk analysis skills.
- Strong planning, organizational, and marketing capabilities.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, across various levels.
Your previous work history should reflect your commercial acumen and your ability to successfully engage with a wide range of stakeholders. A full driver's license is required, as you will need to travel within the area using a Department vehicle.
Salary
The starting salary for this position is $68,456, with annual salary progression based on performance. Appointment and remuneration will be aligned with relevant skills and experience.
