About the Role
We are seeking a passionate Reporting Analyst with strong commercial acumen and a keen interest in data for a 12-month fixed-term position. In this role, you will be instrumental in migrating our reporting and business intelligence assets to Snowflake. This position can be based in either Auckland, Wellington, or Christchurch. Your contributions will enable us to make informed, data-driven decisions that enhance audience engagement, boost revenue, and improve inventory management, ultimately benefiting our stakeholders and customers. You will be responsible for producing meaningful data and reports that support product development, pricing strategies, sales, and marketing initiatives.
In this role, you can expect to:
- Migrate PowerBI reports and dashboards from our SQL service databases to Snowflake.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance the usability and content of existing reports.
- Work alongside Insights Analysts to develop data products, including external-facing reports and newsletters.
- Partner with data engineers to build the necessary data models for reports and dashboards.
- Identify data quality issues and collaborate with data engineers to resolve them.
- Proactively seek opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of data self-service.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in data or reporting environments.
- Business intelligence and/or analytics experience.
- Experience working with large datasets.
- Strong technical skills, particularly in SQL, Excel, and Power BI.
- Experience in data engineering, such as modeling or DBT, is desirable.
- Familiarity with Google data products, such as Google Analytics, Big Query, and Google Cloud Services, is also desirable.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and solution validation skills.
- The ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
- A proven track record of delivering reports and data requests in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
