We are currently seeking an experienced Metal Fabricator Welder to join our team and support various projects throughout the Taranaki region and beyond. About the Role In this role, you will be responsible for the fabrication, installation, and repair of metal products. Your work will involve a variety of tasks, including marking, cutting, shaping, welding, and assembling steel and other metal materials to create or repair metal structures. This position may require you to travel across the country to assist with projects, so we are looking for candidates who are flexible with work locations. Key responsibilities include: - Fabricating, installing, and repairing metal products such as vents, handrails, boilers, aircraft and boat parts, as well as beams and girders for construction projects. - Preparing metal materials for fabrication. - Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints. - Measuring and marking cutting and bending lines. - Setting up metalworking machinery, including rollers, drill presses, flame cutters, brakes, and shears. - Welding metal pieces together using techniques such as MIG, TIG, or stick welding. - Double-checking design specifications before commencing cutting work. - Fabricating and constructing metal components. - Grinding and finishing completed products. - Inspecting finished products for defects, ensuring all welds, joints, and parts meet quality standards, and making necessary adjustments. - Adhering to health and safety protocols. - Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need: - A minimum of 2.5 years of relevant experience or a relevant qualification. - A friendly demeanor, strong time management skills, and an excellent work ethic. - The flexibility to work in various locations across New Zealand. - A commitment to learning and developing your skills within the industry. - A dedication to health and safety practices on-site. - Reliability and a hardworking attitude. Benefits We offer competitive pay ranging from a minimum of $30.00 to a maximum of $35.00 per hour, depending on your experience. You can expect a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours of work each week. Location This position may require travel to multiple locations throughout New Zealand, including regions such as Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Gisborne, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson-Tasman, Canterbury, West Coast, Otago, and Southland.
