About the Role
We are excited to announce an opportunity for a motivated pharmacist to join our Pharmacy Service at Whangarei Hospital. This permanent part-time position involves working 28 hours per week and is particularly significant as it allows you to enhance health outcomes for patients in Northland, following increased national funding aimed at expanding access to cancer medicines.
In this role, you will provide a comprehensive, effective, and safe pharmaceutical service to both patients and staff, with a primary focus on supporting the Cancer and Blood Service in their treatment efforts across Northland.
About the Team/Service/Location
Whangarei Hospital is a medium-sized secondary hospital with approximately 260 beds, located about two hours north of Auckland. We serve a diverse and high-needs population, and our commitment is to deliver excellent patient-centered care while striving for equitable health outcomes through collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation.
Our pharmacy team consists of around 20 skilled pharmacists who deliver clinical pharmacy services across various departments, including Medicine, Surgery, Older People's Health, Rehabilitation, Critical Care, Children's Health, Mental Health, Infectious Diseases, Antimicrobial Stewardship, Cancer and Blood services, and Renal services.

About You
To be considered for this position, applicants must hold or be eligible for a current Annual Practising Certificate from the Pharmacy Council of New Zealand. If you are applying from outside New Zealand, please provide details about the registration route relevant to you and your current status in that process.
While not essential, a postgraduate qualification in a relevant clinical area and previous hospital pharmacy experience are highly desirable. We encourage applicants to submit a cover letter along with an updated CV as part of the application process.
What We Can Offer You
The remuneration for this role ranges from $82,856 to $116,390 annually, equivalent to $39.83 to $55.96 per hour for full-time positions. Your salary will be dependent on your experience, as per the PSA Allied, Public Health, Scientific, and Technical Collective Agreement.
