We are currently seeking Expressions of Interest for upcoming Civil and Roading projects in South Auckland. Our client is a well-established and reputable Civil Company dedicated to quality, sustainability, and growth.
About the Role
The positions involve working as part of a team on-site, engaging in various manual tasks related to general civil labor as directed by the site supervisor or team leaders. While the roles are physically demanding, they are also highly rewarding, allowing you to work closely with a team that takes pride in their work and values collaborative task completion.
Your daily responsibilities may include:
- Digging and shovel work
- Asphalting
- Concreting and boxing
- Setting up, packing down, and cleaning the site
- Moving and unloading materials
- Other general laboring tasks as required
Key Information
Work hours typically start between 6:30 AM and 7:00 AM, concluding around 5:00 PM. As we approach the warmer months, there may be an expectation for longer hours, extending up to 6:00 PM. The hourly rate ranges from $24 to $26, with experienced applicants potentially earning up to $28 per hour.
The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with the possibility of an occasional Saturday, which will be a half-day. On-the-job training will be provided, along with further opportunities for career development. Our client thrives in team environments, so it is essential to be a team player who is willing to put in a full day's effort and assist with cleaning during downtime.
Requirements
Successful applicants will:
- Be physically fit and able to perform heavy, hands-on work
- Be comfortable working outdoors
- Have reliable transportation to reach the work site each day
- Ideally have experience in civil, roading, or construction labor, although training can be provided
- Possess a Constructsafe certification or be willing to obtain one (we can assist with this)
- Hold a Class 1 driver's license; RTW certification would be an advantage for future development
- Pass a pre-employment drug test
- Provide two contactable references
- Complete a Ministry of Justice check
