About the Company
At Ora Toa, we are part of Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira, a dynamic and influential iwi organisation that is deeply rooted in our cultural identity. Our mission is to drive change in hauora Māori and community wellbeing, underpinned by our core values of manaakitanga, kōtahitanga, and whanaungatanga. We are dedicated to creating a health system that is responsive, respectful, and equitable for all.
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and values-driven Clinical Leader to join our team. This is a unique opportunity for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about developing others while maintaining a focus on strategic clinical leadership rooted in tikanga Māori.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing strategic clinical leadership across our community health and general practice teams. You will mentor and supervise GPs, junior doctors, and registrars, drive quality improvement and service development, and contribute to clinical governance. Additionally, you will embed culturally safe and integrated models of care and lead innovative solutions aimed at reducing health inequities.
This position allows for a flexible balance between hands-on clinical work (minimum 0.2 FTE) and system-level impact (0.4 FTE).
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have experience in primary care delivery within Aotearoa, New Zealand, and a strong focus on team-based, equity-oriented clinical practice. You will also need a proven track record in clinical supervision and leadership within multidisciplinary teams.
What will truly set you apart is your deep commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, your passion for hauora Māori, and your ability to lead with manaakitanga and purpose.
About the Team
You will join a passionate team that operates within a kaupapa Māori model of care, supported by strong cultural, clinical, and operational resources. At Ora Toa, we prioritize the needs of our whānau, ensuring that the care we provide is not only effective but also culturally appropriate and equitable.
Benefits
In return for your contributions, we offer a commitment to your professional development, including financial support for continuing medical education (CME). You will also enjoy free on-site parking and gym access, along with the opportunity to serve our iwi and community aspirations, making a meaningful impact in the lives of others.
