    About the Company English Language Partners New Zealand (ELPNZ) is a not-for-profit education provider with NZQA category 1 status. For over 40 years, we have been dedicated to providing English language programs and settlement support to adult migrants and individuals from refugee and asylum backgrounds across New Zealand. With 21 centers from Whangarei to Invercargill, our committed team of 380 staff and 850 volunteers support more than 8,000 learners annually. We are passionate about helping former refugees and migrants successfully engage in all aspects of life in Aotearoa New Zealand, and we invite you to join us in this important mission. About the Role We are seeking an Operations and Staff Management professional to oversee our Dunedin and Southland centers. This full-time, permanent position is based in central Dunedin and involves managing the daily operations of our English language programs. You will be responsible for various operational aspects including planning, reporting, marketing, finance, fundraising, and business development. Additionally, you will act as a liaison with stakeholders and the community, connecting with local businesses, educators, ethnic communities, and other groups to ensure our centers meet the needs of learners in the area. In this role, you will lead and inspire a team of 29, which includes five part-time Coordinators/Operations staff, 24 part-time teaching staff, and 40 volunteers, to service approximately 450 learners each year. Who You Are We are looking for someone who is values-driven and committed to making a difference in people's lives. You are naturally organized and adept at operational logistics, enjoying the challenge of coordinating various elements effectively. As a seasoned people manager, you know how to motivate and empower a team while addressing challenges head-on. Your practical and empathetic approach allows you to adapt your management style to suit different situations. Described by others as high-energy, you take pride in improving processes to make operations run more smoothly and efficiently. You thrive in a diverse environment, driven by a desire to create a meaningful impact while enjoying the journey. Requirements - A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in organizational or general management, preferably within the community or not-for-profit sector. - Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as management, not-for-profit management, or business studies. A qualification in TESOL or adult education is highly desirable. - Competency in IT, with strong skills in project management, financial management, and analytical thinking. - Experience or knowledge in ESOL, education, and working with former refugees and migrants. - Strong people management and relationship-building abilities.
