Are you eager to embark on your early childhood teaching career? At BestStart Allenton, we are thrilled to invite a Teacher in Training to join our nurturing and supportive nursery team. This role is ideal for individuals in their first year of study or those planning to start their Level 7 ECE Bachelor in 2026. You will have the opportunity to work in our warm and welcoming nursery space, which includes two small rooms dedicated to children under two years old. Together with our experienced Kaiako, you will support tamariki through each stage of their development.

About the Role
This is a permanent, full-time position, requiring 40 hours of work per week from Monday to Friday. You will be based in our nursery, working collaboratively across two rooms for children under two years old. The team is supportive and experienced, offering mentorship and guidance as you grow in your teaching practice. Our centre is conveniently located next to Allenton School and Allenton shops, making it easily accessible.
In this role, you will work closely with whānau and Kaiako to foster curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning in our tamariki.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who are currently enrolled or planning to enroll in a Level 7 ECE Bachelor program for 2026. A passion for quality teaching and child-led learning is essential, along with a solid understanding of Te Whāriki and ECE regulations. We seek individuals who are committed to maintaining high standards of practice and dedicated to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi in their everyday teaching. The ideal candidate will be a team player, full of energy and enthusiasm, with a genuine love of learning.
