About the Role We are looking for a reliable and motivated Metal Fabricator Welder for multiple opportunities. This role requires flexibility, as you may be asked to travel across the country to assist with various projects. Your primary responsibilities will include marking, cutting, shaping, welding, and assembling steel and other metal materials to create and repair metal structures and products. Key Duties and Responsibilities - Fabricate, install, and repair metal products such as vents, handrails, boilers, aircraft and boat parts, as well as beams and girders for construction projects. - Prepare metal for fabrication, ensuring precision in measurements and markings. - Read and interpret engineering blueprints to ensure accurate execution of projects. - Set up metalworking machinery, including rollers, drill presses, flame cutters, brakes, and shears. - Weld metal pieces together using techniques such as MIG, TIG, or stick welding. - Double-check design specifications before commencing cutting work. - Fabricate and construct metal components with attention to detail. - Grind and finish completed products to meet quality standards. - Inspect finished products for defects, ensuring that all welds, joints, and parts meet quality criteria, and make necessary adjustments. - Adhere to health and safety protocols at all times. - Perform any additional duties as assigned by your supervisor. Requirements - A minimum of 2.5 years of relevant experience in metal fabrication and welding or a relevant qualification. - Strong time management skills and a solid work ethic are essential. - Flexibility to work in various locations across the country is required. - A commitment to ongoing learning and skill development within the industry. - Dedication to maintaining health and safety practices on-site. - Applicants must be New Zealand citizens/residents or possess a valid New Zealand work visa. Benefits - Competitive pay ranging from a minimum of $30.00 per hour to a maximum of $35.00 per hour, depending on experience. - Guaranteed minimum of 30 hours of work per week. - Opportunity to work in diverse locations throughout New Zealand, including Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Gisborne, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson-Tasman, Canterbury, West Coast, Otago, and Southland.
