About the Role
We are currently seeking a Maintenance Engineer to manage the repair, maintenance, and overhaul of agricultural plant and machinery. In this role, you will adhere to our company's Health and Safety policies and work closely with the Crop Supply Manager and Engineering staff to achieve optimal agricultural operations outcomes. It will be essential to maintain documentation of your work and to provide advice and assistance to external contractors as needed to ensure the best results.
Your Key Skills
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Repairing or coordinating repairs for any breakdowns with qualified contractors.
- Ensuring safety for yourself and those working alongside you.
- Promptly communicating any variations or unexpected outcomes.
- Managing work demands, including working hours and on-call responsibilities.
- Completing pre-start checks, periodic maintenance, and coordinating external service provider work.
- Understanding the seasonality of the industry, focusing on overhauls in winter while maintaining and repairing during the active season.
- Managing your personal workload effectively to accommodate these seasonal responsibilities.
Licenses Required for Role
To be considered for this position, you must hold the necessary licenses to operate machinery, with a minimum of a full Class 1 license. Trade certificates or qualifications in Engineering and Mechanical repair are desired but not mandatory.
Experience for the Role
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- Knowledge of various types of plant and equipment.
- Previous production experience.
- Experience in machinery maintenance.
- An understanding of Continuous Improvement and Project Management principles.
Technical Knowledge
Candidates should have a solid foundation in:
- Engineering
- Hydraulics
- Mechanics
- Auto Electrical systems
