About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Metal Fabricator Welder for multiple roles available across the Hawkes Bay region. This position requires a reliable and motivated individual who is open to working in various locations nationwide to support our ongoing projects.
In this role, your primary responsibilities will include all aspects of marking, cutting, shaping, welding, and assembling steel and other metal materials. You will be involved in the creation and repair of metal structures and products, which may include, but are not limited to, the following tasks:
- Fabricating, installing, and repairing metal products such as vents, handrails, boilers, aircraft and boat parts, and beams and girders for construction projects
- Preparing metal for fabrication
- Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints
- Measuring and marking out cutting and bending lines
- Setting up metalworking machinery, including rollers, drill presses, flame cutters, brakes, and shears
- Welding metal pieces together using techniques such as MIG, TIG, or stick welding
- Double-checking design specifications before commencing cutting work
- Fabricating and constructing metal components
- Grinding and finishing completed products
- Inspecting finished products for defects and ensuring that all welds, joints, and parts meet quality standards, making necessary adjustments as needed
- Adhering to health and safety protocols
- Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:
- A minimum of 2.5 years of relevant experience or a relevant qualification
- A friendly demeanor, strong time management skills, and an excellent work ethic
- Flexibility to work in various locations across the country
- A commitment to learning and developing your skills within the industry

Benefits
The position offers a competitive pay rate ranging from a minimum of $30.00 to a maximum of $35.00 per hour, depending on experience. We guarantee a minimum of 30 hours of work each week.
Location
You may be required to work in multiple locations throughout New Zealand, including but not limited to Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Gisborne, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson-Tasman, Canterbury, West Coast, Otago, and Southland.
