About the Role
We are currently seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Nurse Coordinator to join our dedicated team at The Doctors Birkenhead. This is a permanent full-time position, requiring 40 hours of work per week from Monday to Friday, located in Birkenhead, Auckland. In this role, you will work closely with the Nurse Lead to foster a culture of excellence in patient care, inspiring and motivating our team to uphold our high standards.
As the Nurse Coordinator, your main responsibilities will include:
- Providing clinical and professional support to the Nurse Lead to enhance patient outcomes and service delivery.
- Collaborating with the Nurse Lead to coordinate staff allocation across all shifts.
- Taking accountability for resources and equipment utilized by the team.
- Supervising and mentoring other nurses.
- Monitoring clinical care in real-time and proactively addressing any issues.
- Managing the day-to-day coordination of the nursing team and ensuring effective patient flow.
In this position, you will primarily work clinically alongside the nursing team while also covering for leave and breaks. Additionally, you will assist the Nurse Lead with non-clinical tasks such as accreditation preparation, service improvement initiatives, and implementing changes. Your support will be crucial in developing new models of care, enhancing healthcare access, improving patient experiences, and achieving health outcomes that align with the Ministry of Health's strategic themes.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Previous experience in Primary Care, with sound clinical knowledge and skills in comprehensive assessment and care planning.
- Experience in coaching and teaching others.
- An interest in quality improvement systems and processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A strong work ethic.
- A current practicing certificate as a Registered Nurse.
