About the Role
We are currently seeking a dedicated Housekeeping Supervisor to work closely with our Housekeeping Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations within the housekeeping department across one or more sites. This position requires a hands-on approach to support our team in maintaining cleanliness and presentation standards throughout our hotel accommodations.
You will play a vital role in supervising a team of Public Area and Room Attendants, ensuring that all areas meet our product specifications and standards. Your effective communication and people management skills will help you build rapport with team members, enabling us to deliver exceptional service while focusing on guest satisfaction and positive leadership.
What You Will Be Doing
- Supervising Public Area and Room Attendants while actively participating in daily workloads
- Assisting the Housekeeping Manager with resource management and allocation
- Conducting detailed inspections of guest rooms prior to guest arrivals
- Ensuring compliance with product specifications and cleanliness standards
- Resetting staff accommodation rooms to ensure they are ready for use
- Communicating with the Front Office regarding room bookings, changes, and item charges
- Collaborating with the HR team on staff arrivals and departures
- Resolving guest complaints to their satisfaction within your level of authority
What You Will Bring to the Role
- A minimum of 12 months of housekeeping experience in the hospitality industry
- At least 6 months of experience in a supervisory or team leader role
- Experience working within a multi-site property portfolio is preferred
- A strong attention to detail, with a focus on outcomes and organization
- A friendly, outgoing, and professional demeanor combined with excellent communication skills
- Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a dynamic environment
- A strong desire to provide outstanding guest experiences
The Role and Benefits
This is a full-time, permanent position requiring a minimum of 60 hours per fortnight. The hourly rate ranges from $28.00 to $31.00.
You will have the opportunity to live in the stunning surroundings of Aoraki/Mt Cook National Park, with affordable onsite accommodation that includes Wi-Fi and power.
