About the Role
We are currently seeking full-time Construction Technicians to join our team. These positions are permanent and involve deployment across various infrastructure and commercial construction projects nationwide. Your specific site location will be determined based on project demands, and we guarantee a minimum of 30 hours of work per week.
Pay & Benefits
We offer competitive compensation ranging from a minimum of $26.00 to a maximum of $40.00 per hour. Our roles come with full-time hours, permanent employment, and all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools provided. You will have the opportunity to work on major infrastructure and commercial projects, contributing to the development of New Zealand.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that align with your skills and capabilities. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Complying with all aspects of contracts and project requirements while delivering customer service that meets or exceeds expectations.
- Erecting scaffolding or ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
- Creating structures, forms, or chutes and pouring concrete.
- Covering subfloors with building paper to prevent moisture and installing hardwood, parquet, or wood-strip-block floors.
- Filling cracks or defects in plaster or plasterboard and sanding as needed.
- Positioning and securing steel bars, rods, cables, or mesh in concrete forms using various tools.
- Performing general labor tasks, including cleaning construction sites as directed by management.
- Loading and unloading construction materials, tools, and equipment and transporting them around job sites.
- Carrying out any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, we prefer candidates with some experience in the construction industry, although it is not essential. The following skills and attributes are essential:
- A friendly demeanor with strong time management skills and a solid work ethic.
- A commitment to learning and developing skills within the industry.
- Sound knowledge of health and safety procedures.
- Reliability and a hardworking mentality.
- Ability to fabricate and install custom joinery and cabinetry.
- Skills in general framing, fix-outs, and door hanging.
- Proficiency in measuring and cutting materials with precision.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workspace.
- Willingness to collaborate with other trades as needed.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
Nationwide Opportunity and Travel
While this role is listed in Bay of Plenty, we are actively recruiting for positions across all regions of New Zealand, based on project requirements. The regions include:
North Island: Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington.
South Island: Tasman, Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago, Southland.
