At North Beach Fishing and the Jones Family Farm, we pride ourselves on being a family-run business that values care and commitment to our community. We are pleased to announce a newly created position for an Office Administrator to join our team in Blaketown. This role has been established to help manage our growing business and enhance the efficiency of our administrative and digital operations.
About the Role
As an Office Administrator, you will work from our Blaketown office, supporting both the fishing and farming segments of our business. Your contributions will be vital in helping our team stay organized, manage our financial records, and keep our technology systems updated.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing payroll using Smartly, designed for small teams
- Handling accounts using Xero, which includes invoicing, reconciling, and setting up bills
- Organizing and advising on administrative and software systems
- Writing various correspondence, including letters, contracts, and insurance claims
- Liaising with our accountant
- Supporting general administrative duties, including occasional errands such as vehicle warrants
Requirements
We are looking for a proactive and efficient individual with strong computer and administrative skills. The ideal candidate will have experience with Xero and general bookkeeping.
You should enjoy creating structure and simplicity, and be a friendly, down-to-earth communicator who appreciates variety in their work. A full New Zealand driver's license is an advantage.
Role Details
This newly created role is a result of our business growth. We offer up to 20 hours per week with flexible days and times to accommodate the right candidate. Our family-friendly environment allows for flexibility around holidays and personal commitments.
In addition, we provide a Christmas bonus and support ongoing training and upskilling. Craig, Penny, and the team are eager to welcome someone who can take charge of the administrative side of the business, allowing us to focus on what we do best.
