    Location: Wellington Regional Hospital Contract: Permanent 0.6 FTE, Monday to Friday Please note that this role is exclusively available to current staff of Te Whatu Ora. About the Role We are excited to announce a permanent opportunity to join our dynamic team in the Integrated Operations Centre (IOC). In the position of Transit Care Nurse, you will assess and provide critical acute clinical care to high-risk patients while accompanying them to various locations across the Wellington District, as well as off-site radiology facilities. The Transit Care Team is a close-knit group of skilled registered nurses who deliver an essential service within our organization. We foster collegial relationships with various specialties throughout the Wellington District, earning trust and respect across all clinical areas for our contributions to patient wellbeing and health outcomes. The salary range for this role is based on the NZNO MECA step 2 - 7, dependent on skills and experience, pro-rata. About the Team/Service Location This role offers you a degree of autonomy in organizing your day. You will utilize the Smart Page booking system in collaboration with clinical areas, your team members, and the Duty Nurse Manager (DNM) as well as the Transit Associate Clinical Nurse Manager (ACNM). We provide ongoing educational opportunities through the Professional Development and Recognition Programme (PDRP) to enhance your knowledge, keep you updated with evidence-based practices, and support you in promoting accepted standards of practice within our organization. The Transit Care service operates Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with an alternating 8:30 AM start time. About You What we can offer you includes: - An individualized orientation program - Exceptional professional development opportunities such as study days, postgraduate programs, and leadership development - The chance to work in a large hospital providing tertiary-level care for the region The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications: - New Zealand Residency or Citizenship - Current residency in New Zealand - A current Annual Practicing Certificate - A minimum of 4 years of postgraduate experience - Proficient to Expert level on the PDRP or actively working towards this - New Zealand Resuscitation Council Level 6 certification Working at Health New Zealand At Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, we believe in "the weaving of wellness."
